What is Dog Day care?

  • When I started my Dog Day Care in Berlin, I wanted it to feel like a second home for our guest dogs.
  • While they are with us they play with humans, dogs, are surrounded by enrichment toys, fed homemade healthy treats and most importantly are kept safe!
  • Owners also find it comforting to know they aren’t home alone, destroying furniture or, even worse, feeling sad and scared.

What is Cage Free Boarding?

  • Cage free boarding is like traditional dog boarding however they stay with us as if they were part of our family and are allowed to roam free, sleep indoors where they please with an emphasis on caring for your dogs mental health.
  • As the owner of two sensitive rescues I know they would hate to be alone or sleep in a crate so I have created my business to offer the same level of care I would want for them.
  • We have the ability to separate the dogs into smaller groups should any personality clashes arise but we do not punish or isolate any dog in our care.

Will my dog go outside?

  • Our home is on one acre of land with manicured and forest land for the dogs to roam free and chase squirrels or bask in the sun.
  • Should it be bad weather and your dog would like to stay indoors they will also have an array of enrichment toys and treats to keep them well entertained.
  • Our property has a secure boundary line that was created in mind to keep my own two dogs safe, they will also be supervised at all times by myself as I am a full time dog minder and never leave your precious pup alone for a moment.

Where are you based?

  • Contact us directly for the Eircode.

How many dogs will be there?

  • I take no more than three dogs at a time (not including my own dog).
  • In order for nervous dogs to feel at ease and for each dog to get the attention and affection they need during their stay I ensure not to overbook.

What do I need to bring?

  • Every dog must come wearing a harness.
  • Sighthounds with thin coats are advised to wear their Pyjama's to protect their fragile skin.
  • Dog's must be provided winter/rain coats during the colder months.
  • For overnight stays you will need to provide their food and medication with instructions and we provide everything else.

My dog is not castrated/spayed can they still come?

  • Generally due to safety reasons we tend not to accept uncastrated or unspayed dogs but we do decide on a case by case basis. Please reach out to us via email to discuss your dog directly.

How will I know if my dog is suitable?

  • As our land is beside rural farms we can not accept dogs who are reactive or over interested in livestock unless they are incapable of jumping the boundary.
  • Your dog must have good general behaviour in order to attend any dog-dog group play. They must not have a history of showing aggression or exhibiting threatening behaviour to any person or other dogs.
  • Your dog must also not be overly possessive of food or toys as both will always be available.
  • If your dog has a history of escaping doors please let us know in advance in order for us to ensure they will be secure during their stay.

What happens if there is an emergency?

  • In the unlikely event of an emergency or sickness with your dog during their stay we will alert you immediately, If we can not reach you we will continue with intervention as we see fit and most likely bring them to our local emergency vet.
  • Please also note that you will be invoiced for any vet fee's incurred for your dog during their stay however, we will always consult you first where possible. You will find more information on this in our service liability waver.

My dog needs to take medication during their stay, can this be arranged?

  • Yes! We are happy to administer oral or topical medication, we advise owners to supply a special treat in case they need to be tricked.
